My name is Marisa Victoria Gonzales. I am a Mexican-Puerto Rican American from San Antonio, Texas!
I am a graduate of NYU Tisch's School of Drama- where I completed my primary training at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and my advanced training in Stonestreet Studios.
\Being a Latina who grew up in South Texas with parents involved in politics, I spent my time growing up seeing many hard things- immigration issues, the misrepresentation of my culture, the fight for women & LGBTQ rights. This sparked me to have a desire to share the stories of people who aren't represented and whose stories need to be told.
As an actor, my mission is to do two things: to tell stories and to create joy. I want my work to reflect the important issues I feel passionate about and that I want to educate others in, as well as to create work I love and that sparks joy in a time where the arts are so necessary in creating a sense of escapism in the world that we live in today.
I am particularly inspired by any story that centers around a strong female character with agency- as I feel it is so important to inspire the next generation and help them to see themselves represented- whether that be on stage on on screen.
